I already have a Bankwest account, with address details as my permanent overseas address. It's my only address. I'm trying to open an account online, but the form filling process won't allow me to change the country from Australia to my country of residence. 'Australia' is greyed out and can't be changed. So I can't proceed with the new account application. It also requires an Australia mobile no. which I don't have
I also recently moved and I can't change my address with Bankwest. All my paper statements are mailed to my old address
The wait time on the help line is very long and I can't find the 'chat' symbol anywhere to try to engage with a person.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

@dolphdog: Best not to put your contact details in the forum, i'd stongly recommend you edit your post to remove that information quickly.
On this issue, you may be best to login to Bankwest Online Banking, and send a secure Bankmail message to assist if you can't wait in the queue. That should be the fastest way to get this addressed.
Information on Bankmail can be found at:

Hi @dolphdog, thanks for contacting us in regards to this. I've checked with our team and to open a Bankwest account you will need to be an Australian resident and have an Australian address so this may be where the issue is coming up for you. If you give us a quick call on our international number +61 8 9486 4130 our team can update your address to a new one so your statements can start going to the right address. If you'd like they can also set you up with online banking so you can get online eStatements set up.
