Why does online chat only assist with general enquiries on Bankwest products and service and not enquiries specific to our accounts?

Hi @cgm, when you chat with us via our website we have not identified you to view or discuss any specific or personal details. However if you log into online banking via a computer and select the 'chat now' button you'll be able to chat with our service team to discuss your account. ^Sarah

Thanks for clarifying @SarahF.

 

However, couldn't this be resolved by the consultant asking some identifying questions when chatting through the website?

Hi @cgm, we will not ask identifying questions in writing (Only over the phone or in person) When you chat with us via online banking we don't ask for your personal details, we idnetify you in the background by you logging into online banking which makes this a secure way to chat with you.
