Would love to stop seeing annoying messages about new credit card offers whenever I use online banking. So far all efforts to stop them have failed.
First I went to the My details section and changed 'marketing opt-in' to NO - this didn't work. Then I rang and spoke to a human who said that credit card offers are different from marketing (most would disagree), and had to be stopped separately, which she did. But credit card offers kept coming, so another time I used the chat facility to politely request that offers be stopped. Despite assurances I wouldn't see them again, they keep coming back.
So what do I have to do to stop getting unwanted marketing messages when doing online banking? Has anyone managed to stop them? Or is it easier to just try another bank's credit card?
Some may see the annoyance as trivial, but I see it as a form of spam. Bankwest has made as much money from me as any bank could in my 25 years as a customer ... surely they can respect the clearly-stated wishes of a loyal but getting-frustrated customer.
