Credit card increase invitation

Bankwest periodically provides credit card increase invitations through BOB (Bankwest Online Banking).  Does a record appear on a consumer's credit history if only the invited amount is accepted?

Hi @cgm, you're really testing my knowledge here Smiley Happy its great! I've spoken with our credit risk team and been advised that there are a few things to consider when thinking about credit limits. Bankwest will sometimes have what we call a 'shadow limit' which is a limit we will increase your credit card with no credit check needed. To find out if you have one of these you can call us on 13 17 19 or speak with one of our specialists.

If a customer requests a credit limit increase when there is no 'shadow limit' available or need more then what the shadow limit allows a new credit check will be done. I hope that makes sense Smiley Happy

$18,000 minimum credit card limit for the Bankwest Qantas World Mastercard @thewinchester!  It's also has a high $220 annual fee.

I'm sure you've already seen the post, but more information can be found here, Qantas World Mastercard!

The limit is actually a bit lower than that @cgm, confirmed the exact number this afternoon.

But as BWA don't publish that information available online, I'm not going to post than information here.

So I had an invitation waiting for me in BOB (Bankwest Online Banking) yesterday morning, I accepted it and it went through instantly.

Would this be a shadow limit @SarahF, with no credit check carried out and therefore no record of this particular activity on my credit file?

Yes @cgm, this would be your shadow limit that you've accepted so no further credit check would have been done in this instance.
