Hi @Curious1, bank cheques are treated like cash, so when you purchase one the funds come out of your account immediately. They will not show up in your transactions separately once cashed. Some of our accounts do offer a cheque book facility so it may be best to give us a call on 13 17 19, or log into our secure messaging service in online banking to check if this is available to you. Thanks!

Ok,

Understand the logic however there is no transaction showing in the history.

That is;
It does not show a cash withdrawal or the like
It does not provide a record against the account
It does not allow us to balance our account.
Our bank account is out of balance by the value of two cheques, one purchased in GBP and the other in Australian dollars and where i know where the discrepancy is it will not satisfy our accountant.

Our expectation is that, as a minimum it would show as a cash withdrawal. At the moment opening balance less transactions do not add up to closing balance.

Please advise where we can see the two outstanding transactions.

Thanks

Hi @Curious1 - there should be a transaction showing in your online banking or statement to show the purchase of the bank cheque. If this is not showing we'd need to look into this for you. For security reasons we can't access or discuss any personal account information over the forum. You can give us a call on 13 17 19, or alternatively contact us via our secure online messaging service.

You can access messaging by logging into online banking using a computer and selecting "Message us now".
