looking for people who have had the ring for a longer than myself (week), very hit and miss with getting it to be recognised by the machines (couple of time ive resorted to pulling the real card out); my local coffee shop has been very helpful and theirs had a 'magic spot' above the 'scan here' - what am I missing?

Hey @markatwa, sorry to hear that there seems to be some issues with your Halo.
We've found that generally, all you need to do is hold your hand in a fist (as if you were knocking on a door) in front of the EFTPOS terminal, without actually making contact with the device. This should resolve any issue you may have with the ring not being read.
If it doesn't help, you can pop into your closest branch to have the device tested, and a new ring ordered if necessary.
