We applied for a fee free credit card but was rejected. We wanted it for travel overseas as there are no foreign transaction fees. Applied to have our current card of $3000 increased by $1000 -rejected. We have been Bankwest customer since 1970 and our card is hardly used and never not paid on time. Our income is over $50000 from pensions, super and bank interest. We own our own home and normal expenses amount to about $26000 a year. No one will explain why we don't qualify apart from "NICL" says you don't. Thanks Bankwest. Our holiday will be that much more expensive.

Hi @breeny0, I can certainly understand that you're upset you didn't qualify for the higher limit or the other card. Our assessment for credit card applications does take into account a number of different factors. While income is one of these factors, it is not the only thing we take into consideration. If you'd like to discuss your application further please log into our online banking secure messaging service by selecting "Message us now" or give us a call on 13 17 19. Thanks.
