Sorry to hear this @GP9999.

There are a few ATMs internationally that don't accept Mastercard's unfortunately, so it's also best to check that you can see the Mastercard symbol prior to attempting to withdraw funds.

If you've already tried this but the card is still not working, you can login to your Online Banking and select "Ask Us" via the Mobile App menu or "Message us Now" from a PC, as via Facebook we are unable to view or provide any personal information.

Alternatively, you can call our Contact Centre on +61 8 9486 4130. This is a Reverse Charges Number when calling from a landline, though as you would need to contact the International Operator in the country you are in, I am unable to advise if there would be any charges applied by the local or international telephone company for contacting the Operator.

I hope this helps.

I am having this problem now in Chile. My platinum Bankwest credit card has been declined about 5 times now (everytime I have tried to use it). Bankwest say they can't see any declined amounts and can't help

If there are no declined transactions showing @John3, it sounds like the card is either on hold, not activated, or the decline is happening at the terminal itself before processing - which usually indicates it doesn't accept Mastercards (a problem I faced in both Chile and Argentina recently!).
I can definitely appreciate the inconvenience and apologise that I don't have another answer for you - have you been able to withdraw funds at all? I know personally I was able to withdraw cash much easier in South America than I was able to use my card for purchases. Again, not always an ideal situation, but I'd really like to ensure you're not stuck!
