I have recently taken out an easy instalment plan on my Breeze Platinum credit card.
I just want to make sure I’m making the correct payments to avoid any interest.
My easy instalment plan is for $500. Each monthly installment is $83.33
My closing balance owing on my statement is $701.58 which includes the $500 instalment amount.
So, to avoid interest, I have to pay $83.33 (instalment) plus $201.58 (balance, minus $500 instalment amount)?
Sorry for the silly question, but I just want to make sure I’m doing this correctly!
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @Craggy, yes to prevent interest being charged on the following statement you would need to pay the statement balance ($701.58) minus the instalment plan amount ($500), and then add the Easy Instalment amount ($83.33), so going on the figures you provided above, you would need to pay $284.91. Thanks!

This is a lot of maths to do when I'm usually someone who pays the balance in full--and is more complicated now that I have two easy installments set up. Can I plesae suggest whether this is something that can be looked at by your team? There should be some way of seeing the total amout I need to pay to avoid incurring any interest. Thank you!

Hi @apearn, if you're unsure as to how much you need to pay, our Messaging Team are available 24/7 through your online banking by clicking 'Message us now' (from the bottom bar when logged in using a PC/laptop), or 'Ask us' (from the bottom of the menu in our app). You can also give us a buzz on 13 17 19 if you'd prefer to speak over the phone.
I've passed your feedback through to our Easy Instalments Team. ^Meg

Thanks for your reply. It's still unfortunately inconvenient when I'm managing the vast majority of my banking self-service through the app to have to either call/message for customer service or use the calculator myself (which, when done on my phone, logs me out of the bankwest app where all of the relevant details are) and I would still suggest simplifying this for your valued customers.
