Why is Bankwest always lagging behind in the technology department?
First of all we still don't have access to Apple Pay. Many of the other (and often smaller) banks have been offering this for a number of years and if you have an Android phone you can use Google Pay.
Second of all PayID, once again Bankwest is behind the other banks who offer payments with a PayID.
It seems that Bankwest is happy to close branches however won't invest in new technology. Is this to increase the profit or is it to remain inferior to its parent company Commonwealth Bank?

Hi @whiterabbit, at present we’ve been unable to agree on commercial terms with Apple that would enable us to deliver Apple Pay for our customers. We know that some of our customers are frustrated that this isn't a facility we can provide at this stage and I'm sorry I don't have a different answer for you.
We're currently putting the finishing touches on the next phase of our PayID rollout (sending using PayID), to ensure a smooth experience for our customers and hope to have this available soon. In the meantime Bankwest customers can create their PayID and start receiving faster payments straight away. We'll be letting all of our customers know as soon as we have a set date.
