Taking my home loan to a competitor

I've decided to apply to transfer my Bankwest Premium Home Loan (5.37%) to a competitor's home loan product (4.64% comparison rate), and transfer my loan to that bank.

No fees charged by the competitor to complete this process.

Bankwest was unwillingly to assist when I went in store.

However, I would be willing to stay if Bankwest met the interest rate being offered by the competitor and covered my credit card annual fee for the life of my loan. Smiley Very Happy

Hi @cgm, I've just spoken with our Customer Options home loan team manager and she has suggested that we speak with you to look into this. Can you please email me your contact number and a suitable time for us to call you tomorrow. Our email address is forum@bankwest.com.au Thanks!

Good on you. I'm looking to do the same. Been a customer of BankWest for many years but went I contacted them, they were not able to assist with switching my loan to a fix interest rate. I'm currently paying about $600 more per month as they insist I have to stay on the Mortgage Shredddr.

Hi @SarahF.

All the Customer Options team did was read through the different products already on the Bankwest website to see if I was eligible.  Customer's do that themselves already.

Nothing offered or gained from speaking the Customer Options team.

Hi @cgm, I'm sorry to hear our team could not help you find a suitable home loan for you. They've mentioned they did a review and looked at options that may suit to help reduce your rate. I'm really sorry we could not assist you further.
