Guarantor for a home loan

Posted by Keith Keith
Message 1 of 7 986 Views
Some years ago we went as guarantor for sons home loan . We used a rental property that we own outright. We now wish to sell that property however due to an increase in ours sons home loan due to renovations 18 months ago and the down turn in apartment values in Perth he has negative equity on that property. Can I transfer the guarantee from our rental property to our home which we also own outright value approximately $700,000. Regards.

Thanks for your question @Keith, it is something you may possibly be able to do. It would be best to contact us via our messaging service or over the phone on 13 17 19, so that we can discuss your options in more detail and determine the steps you would need to take to get the ball rolling on this.

You can access messaging during WA business hours by logging into online banking using a computer and selecting "Message us now".

It sounds like you may be trying to access this via a phone @Keith, if you can log into online banking via a computer the text box should be a lot bigger. Thanks.

I was on my PC then went to compose and typed in my request.

I was under the impression that i could chat by keyboard in real time.  Instead it said my request would be answered in 1 to 2 days ?

However I did speak to Nola a loans specialist who was very helpful.

Cheers

Keith.

I'm glad to hear Nola was able to help Keith, can I ask if you have received a reply to your message also?
