Can I use my BankWest debit card in any overseas ATM? Or do I need to find one with a particular symbol on it?

Hi @Sophiec
I use my debit card to withdraw money on most overseas trips. So you definitely can!
Just look out for an ATM that displays the MasterCard logo. You also have to select Credit to withdraw from your account. It took me a while to get use to that.
I tend to pay for any restuarant bills or retail purchases on my platinum credit card though. You don't have to pay any foreign transaction fees overseas.

As far as I'm aware, you can use it on any overseas ATM @Sophiec. Just be vigilant when using them to avoid any dodgy machines, scams, etc.
Also be aware of the fees applicable to using cards overseas and like @cgm mentioned, make sure you select the 'Credit' option otherwise the transaction will fail. Hope this helps and if you're heading overseas - Enjoy!
