Travel Insurance - Breeze Gold Mastercard

Posted by binasken binasken

I am travelling to Europe shortly and have purchased well over $500 on travel costs (hotel accomodation etc) using my Breeze Gold Mastercard.

The return ticket back to Australia was however paid by my Bankwest Debit Card.

Am I still eligibile for comprehensive travel insurance?

Hi @binasken, thanks for reaching out.

The terms do state that providing you have spent at least $500 of pre-paid travel expenses, and have a return airfare before departing, you should be automatically covered. As I understand it, the return airfare does need to be purchased on the Mastercard, though it would be best to confirm this with Allianz directly, on 1800 785 918.

This is because although Bankwest provide the insurance, Allianz are the underwriters of the policy and therefore will be able to confirm that you have met the criteria, and advise exactly what will be covered.

Let me know how you go!
