International transfer

Hello there

I want to transfer a sum out of my current account to my UK banking account. I am a UK citizen, permanently resident in the UK. I also don't have an Australian mobile phone. It would appear that I have to have an Australian phone in order to receive the SMS code that will enable me to make an International Transfer online. I simply cannot do that and it would seem that I currently can’t access this sum. Please could someone advise how I can get round what would seem to be a serious issue.

Hi @IainR, thanks for reaching out.

If you can't receive the SMS code to process an International Transfer via Online Banking, for security reasons you'll instead need to complete an International Money Transfer form, available here:


https://www.bankwest.com.au/forms

You can return the form by scanning and emailing directly to our International Money Transfers Team at IMT.Retail@Bankwest.com.au. Alternatively, you are welcome to post the form back (address is listed on the form), or send it via BankMail (a secure email system available via the "Message Centre" tab of your Online Banking).

 

General email may not be a secure method of communication, and there is a chance your information could be viewed by a third party. If you choose to email any documents to us, this will be at your own risk.

Please be aware a fee applies for this service and we will call you for identification within 3-5 days of receiving this form. If you have not already advised of your overseas contact number, please do add this on file. You can do so by sending a BankMail with your overseas details, or you can "Ask Us" or "Message us Now" within your Online Banking from the mobile app or a PC.

If you have any further questions, you can speak to us via our Online Messaging system as above, or you can call us on
+61 8 9486 4130 from overseas. This is a 24/7 reverse charges number when calling from a landline, though as you would need to contact the International Operator in the country you are in, I am unable to advise if there would be any charges applied by the local or international telephone company for contacting the operator.


Alternatively you can call us on +61 8 9449 2840 using Skype - please note that standard international call/Skype rates will apply.

Hey @Shereeryder, can I ask for a little more info here?

Are you needing to reverse an Online Transfer? Was this an International Transfer or a Domestic one?
