Hi @RITALYNCH, great question! Australian bank accounts don't actually have an IBAN.

To receive funds from an overseas account into your Bankwest account you'll need to provide the sender with the Bankwest SWIFT code (BKWAAU6P), your BSB and account number, your full name, and your street address (cannot be a PO Box).

Hi @grynfeltt, thanks for your question! @RITALYNCH asked the same thing a couple of weeks ago (above) so I moved your question here so you've got the info you're after.

TIP: It's best to try searching the information you're looking for (search bar above the main menu) before writing posts because it'll display existing relevant posts and you might find your answer straight away, rather than having to wait for someone to respond Smiley Happy Always happy to give some tips on getting the most out of the Forum so feel free to ask.

Thanks again and I hope you found what you're looking for.

Hi,

I am trying to recieve money from Sweden and the form that I am completing requires an IBAN number. I combined my bsb with account number, but that is only 13 characters long and the form is indicting that the IBAN is required to be 16characters long.

Can you please assist as to how I build the IBAN so that the 16charaters are correct. I assume that i would need to buffer it out with 0's?

Cheers,

Hi @Dells, In Australia bank accounts don't actually have an IBAN. To receive funds from an overseas account into your Bankwest account you'll need to provide the sender with the Bankwest SWIFT code (BKWAAU6P), your BSB and account number, your full name, and your street address (cannot be a PO Box).

If the bank is not accepting this, you may need to contact them to ask how best to enter the details. Thanks

Hi @LyndsC,

Unfortunately its not a bank I am dealing with, its a transport company for a compensation transfer; and its an online form which has a mandatory field for IBAN which needs to be 16characters long to accept.
