How to activate international travel insurance

I have  a platinium mastercard. I have book my return flights using my mastercard. Do I need to notify Bankwest or the Travel Insurance company of my travel plans to activate the international travel insurance.

Hey Paul, thanks for your query.

We'd definitely suggest adding a Travel Notification in your Online Banking, via the "Self Service > Going Overseas" Tab. Alternatively, you can add this through the "International > Going Overseas" tab on the Mobile App. This will instantly upload the details to your customer profile and ensure ease of use on your accounts whilst you are away Smiley Happy

The insurance will be automatically applied once you have met the required criteria, though if you're chasing a policy number - or if you'd like to ensure you're definitely covered - then the best people to speak with are the providers Allianz Global Assist. Their number is 1800 010 075. This is because although Bankwest provide the insurance, Allianz are the underwriters of the policy and therefore can confirm this for you.
