Transaction dispute

Hi there.

About 4weeks ago i got talked into, by a very persuasive salesman to register and start trading in Forex with a company named Fm-fx. I checked and read through their pds and website and looked to be legit. Over the following weeks i deposited pretty much all my savings of $2500aus into my account. Ive had a little succes in my trades and my balance sits at approx $2900. The big issue i have now is trying to withdraw my balance as i need the money back to move house. I have given their account dep all the docs they required for my account verification but im still yet to see my money returned. I have also dug a lot deeper on the net and found many others in the exact same boat as me with this company of which nobody received any of the money back.

I have got copies of all the emails to and from fm-fx regarding my withdrawal requests and also copies of all the complaints i could find to send with my dispute form.

So my question is what is the likelyhood of being able to retrieve my money back? Because if its gone im going to be completely stuffed with no money for bond and moving costs, let alone the wifey probably divorcing me!

Hi @ratta1981, sorry to hear you're having trouble with this. While you can certainly lodge a transaction dispute with us, these disputes require us to liaise with other financial institutions / merchants etc and we need to allow reasonable time for the other party to respond, so this process can take up to 8 weeks depending on how the transactions were made. Depending on when it is that you're needing to move house, the investigation may not have been completed fully in time.

Please note that we can't guarantee that the investigation would result in your funds being returned if you have authorised the transactions. I can completely understand why it is that you're wanting to know how likely it is that the funds would be returned, however it's not something we can predict, as every transaction dispute is different and this is not something we can know until we investigate it.

I'd really like to look into this further for you and have a specialist speak with you. If you can please send me an email with your full name, contact number and forum username to forum@bankwest.com.au I will arrange for a specialist to call you and discuss your options and look into this further for you. Thanks
