Social media is a great way to keep in contact with the people you care about. We love it at Bankwest! But the profiles you create and the information you share on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube can reveal a lot of personal details. Below are a few tips from us to help protect your privacy.
Maintain networks with people you know, but be wary of people you don’t. Unfortunately there are many fraudsters online, looking for ways to connect and learn your personal information to gain access to your accounts.
Social networks use tagging that can identify you in a post, photo or status update, such as a friend sharing a photo of you and ‘tagging’ you in it. You can set up alerts to notify you when this happens and stay in control of your privacy and reputation. (Think about that future job you’d love or your Grandma seeing this) J
