Retrieving money after closing my account

I recently closed all my accounts with Bankwest as I have moved overseas. However, I purchased an item from the UK using my bankwest mastercard, I have since returned the item for a refund, however, the site is refusing to place the refund in an alternative account other than the once I purchased the item with. 


Is it possible to re-open my account, or is there any other way I can retreive my money?

Hi @kaitlinn, thanks for your enquiry. An account can only be re-opened if it meets specific criteria, however it's something that can certainly be looked into for you. You can login to Online Banking and select the "Chat Now" button at the bottom of your screen between 7am – 6pm AWST Monday – Friday to speak with a consultant around what options are available to you. Alternatively, you can call our Contact Centre on +61 8 9486 4130 from overseas. This is a Reverse Charges Number, however as you would need to contact the International Operator in the country you are in, I am unable to advise if there would be any charges applied by the local or international telephone company for contacting the operator.
