Let’s talk privacy! For many of us our lives are becoming more and more intertwined with the digital world and while we often find many benefits such as convenience and connectivity, it’s vital we’re conscious of privacy and security.

As a proud supporter of privacy awareness we urge you to check out the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner website where there'll be resources, tips and information to share the privacy message - www.oaic.gov.au

We want to start the conversation about privacy here on the Bankwest Forum as part of National Privacy Week and we encourage you to join the conversation on Twitter – follow @OAICgov and use #2016PAW in your tweets.

Check out our recent series of posts about security and privacy then share your questions, tips and experiences by replying to this post.

The mobile team is incredibly focused on the security of our customer. Recently we introduced 4 digit pin which provided not only a faster way of accessing your banking but very secure as well, and took advantage of great functionality like Two Factor Autentication. Our recent 2.7.2 update also included SSL Pinning, this feature improved the security of our app significanlty and was also an exciting software problem to implement.

When it comes to anything we do on our app we work closely with our security team to make sure we are implementing the most up to date security measures.

We are also looking forward to adding more features like Touch ID very soon to increase our security even more!

There are some things you just shouldn’t share on social media. Or maybe it’s just a case of who you’re sharing it with. Do you know how to control your privacy settings on Facebook, for example?

Totally agree @LyndsC! I'm always shocked about how much people share on social about where they are and things like that. Some stuff I share to the 'Public' while others I cange to 'Friends' before i post so only they see it.

Do you use public WiFi networks? Ever thought about what you use it for? Hint – Not the best idea to access your online banking from it. Here are some other points about online banking security.
