Depositing overseas cheque

I need to deposit 2 cheques issued by the Canadian government which are dated 2015. They do not have an expiry date stated on them and the CRA (Canadian revenue agency) says they do not expire however my local branch wouldn't accept them, is this correct?

Hi @briony_p, yes this is correct, our process is that any overseas cheques need to be deposited within 6 months of being issued. Thanks
