Counterfees on Student Accounts

Posted by SamsonKein SamsonKein

Bankwest currently charges $5 on withdrawing money over the counter on student accounts.

Why is this and is there a way to avoid it/get my money back?

Thanks for your question @SamsonKein! The Student account doesn't offer any free counter withdrawals, so if this is your preferred method of banking this may not be the ideal account for you. We do have some everyday accounts that do not charge this fee, however the other features and requirements of these accounts would also differ. The Student account does offer a debit card or MasterCard debit card linked to the account, which you can use to withdraw funds at any Bankwest or Commonwealth Bank ATM for free.
