Hey bankwest, ive recently made a transaction but it says this, id like to know what it means, and i also got funds deducted although it says transaction declined!!
DECLINED TRANSACTION MERCHANT BLOCKED- EXCEEDED TRAN LIMIT (random number)

Hi @LastLeg, thanks for getting in touch.
Generally, this decline occurs when the bank finds that the merchant that you were using may have previously been targeted by fraudsters, and the block on the transaction was merely to protect your account. This does not mean that the merchants themselves are fraudulent, the block is merely a precaution put in place by the bank, to ensure the security of your account. This does not affect the usage of your card on a day to day basis, and is only for certain merchants.
For security reasons via the Forum we are unable to view your accounts, so if you would like any further information - and to look into the deduction - you can speak with our Contact Centre. They're available 24/7 by calling 13 17 19, or by logging into your Online Banking and selecting the "Message us Now" tab.

We'd need to have a look at the transaction(s) in question @LastLeg, to verify why this is. If it does say Merchant Block, then generally this does still relate to the above. If you are able to get in touch with our Contact Centre as above, they'll certainly be able to assist further. Thank you.
