Can someone help me here? I do not understand why I can transfer money between my Bankwest accounts online or on the Bankwest app and it happens instantaneously yet for some reason Bankwest holds an automatic payment set up to go from my savings account to pay out my credit card every month and this takes 3 days plus!
The money disappears out of my savings account and doesn't appear in my credit card for 3 days plus?! And then a Bankwest chat team member tells me that this happens because.
"The periodical payment will take 3 business days to clear, due to a dishonoured periodical payment in October. The 3 business day clearance time will last for 6 months and is in place to ensure there is sufficient funds to cover the payment, to avoid any dishonour fees. Apologies if this was not explained to you previously"
In answer to that - no that was not explained to me. Neither does it make sense to take the money from my own account then hold it to ensure there are sufficient funds. Thirdly the reason there was insufficient funds in the first place was because a Bankwest team member had incorrectly set up an 'Easy Instalments' payment plan.
