Credit cards aren’t meant to be complex but there are a few topics that come up quite often which we want to explain for you.

Activate your card

Change your PIN

'Authorisation Only’ on transaction listing

Unknown transaction

Credit card ‘XX days’ interest free period

Purchase interest

Late fee

Cash advance interest

Cash advance fee

Statement payment from another Bank using BPAY

Using card overseas

Lost card overseas

Hi there,

my previous credit card payabe balance is $1,167.71 and i have paid $1,169.95, which will fully repaid the balance owning, however, i noticed there is purchase interest of $33.21 being charged. I am a bit amused and surprised.

Can you explain why? and Can this be refunded?

Thanks

Hi there @28799415, sorry to hear this, and I hope all is okay!

The best people to speak with about the complimentary insurance on your credit card, are the providers Allianz Global Assist. Their number is 1800 785 918. This is because although Bankwest provide the insurance, Allianz are the underwriters of the policy and therefore will be able to confirm that you have met the criteria, and advise exactly who, and what will be covered. This includes any information you're after regarding pre-existing conditions.

Have a safe trip!
