Can I complete BPay using my credit card account?

I notice on all my bills it just makes reference to cheque or savings accounts using BPay.

Hi @cgm, this will depend on what the biller allows. Some billers do accept BPAY payments from a credit card account, however not all do.

And annoyingly, not all billers indicate that information clearly.

As a rule of thumb, it's generally utilities (water, power, gas) who say no to BPay from credit cards, as well as some councils. Your mileage may vary.

Is there a reason why the biller would treat these accounts differently?

This is a decision made by the billers, so we can't really comment as to why some companies choose this. It would be best to check with the company first however, before attempting to make a BPAY payment from a credit card account.
