This is not a question but rather a complaint.
I'd refinanced away from BankWest in february, with the loan accounts being closed but credit card remaining open. The anniversary of the loans/cards is in June. The card fees were covered by the loan package that was paid in June. Back in February i called BankWest to ask when the annual fee for the card would be due after the package was cancelled and i was told that this would be on the anniversary of the card - in June.
Annoyingly, this advice was incorrect and i got charged a card annual fee of $70 yesterday (April). I called to query this and was told "sorry, the previous advice was incorrect, we cant do anything about it".
I find this very poor, including providing incorrect advice about fees&charges and refusing to do anything about the impacting a customer financially (i dont use the card at all, was just keeping it open till June to make sure any rogue direct debits dont land).
Let this be a warning to other customers that expect to receive correct advice from Bankwest over the phone.
