I have direct debit arragements with most of my normal providers (eg. utilities, insurance, rates, etc). Almost without exception these providers send me a bill or statement which shows me all the details of the bill, when and how much payment is due, etc. They also generally provide a "payments" area where for me it says something like "THIS ACCOUNT IS SENT FOR YOUR INFORMATION ONLY SINCE YOU HAVE A DIRECT DEBIT ARRANGEMENT WITH US". Conversely with Bankwest, with whom I also have a direct debit arrangment, my credit card statement comes plastered with warnings about how much I'll pay in interest if I choose to pay only the minimum amount. If the WaterCorp (600,000 bills/month), Synergy and AlintaGas can treat me as an individual, why can't Bankwest?
