Message 1 of 8 4,967 Views

I am entering details to receive payments from an international store and it requires me to enter the following information:

Account Number, Transit Number, SWIFT Code.

The account number and SWIFT code I have, but I do not know what a Transit Number is.

Thanks.

Hi @Ben, it may be best to contact the company you'll be receiving payments from to clarify what they mean by this. A transit number isn't something I've heard of previously, however it may be that they are referring to a BSB number. It's best to check with them, to ensure you're providing the correct details. Hi @vinno787, we don't use sort codes here in Australia, we have BSB numbers. Thanks!

@BenA transit number is the branch number accisocated with the bank. Its what they use in Canada and the US instead of a BSB number.  Your branch transit number is a 5-digit number comprised of your 4-digit branch number, followed by a number indicating the geographical location of your branch.Smiley Happy

Thanks @brookeson! This is really useful info, though we would still suggest checking with the associated bank to confirm you've got the correct number(s) prior to actioning a transfer Smiley Happy
