I went to deposit a cheque (from ASIC, no less) this morning at about 6:50 at the BankWest ATM on Bourke Street, Melbourne. After inserting the cheque, the ATM paused for about six minutes, then put up a message saying that the cheque could not be returned to me, and spat out my bankcard.
1) What happens next? I have received no notifications as to any action on this issue so far.
2) How can we trust your ATMs if they are so prone to faults?
3) The queues on your phone help lines seem to be very long.
